MP Tom Tugendhat officially opened the multi-use games area for Trottiscliffe on Friday 29 September 2023

The Parish Council were delighted that both MP Tom Tugendhat and Matt Boughton, Leader of Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, could attend this momentous event.

David Gaunt, Chairman of the Parish Council explained that there has been an influx of new and younger families in the village over recent years.  This increase raised questions as to whether the Parish Council should provide more facilities in the village.  In addition a bourgeoning adult netball team and extra facilities to support an over subscribed village nursery and school were a consideration.  The Parish Council canvassed villagers and the local clubs before considering the options and costs.

Louise Goldsmith, Parish Clerk explained that substantial funding was required and that the Parish Council is both grateful and delighted for the financial support received from the FCC Communities Foundation who provided a large grant to cover the cost of the MUGA.

The opening ceremony was attended by villagers and the headteacher and children from the school and also by representatives from the Contractor, Caloo.
