West Malling bus pilot consultation

Big Conversation West Malling

Text version:

Proposed changes to the 58 bus service

22 January – 19 February 2019

Last year KCC launched the Big Conversation to explore innovative and sustainable ways of providing transport to rural communities in Kent.

We have used the results of the consultation to develop a number of pilot schemes to test out the ideas.

We are proposing to revise the 58 service (Addington-Maidstone) operated by Nu-Venture to provide more frequent journey opportunities for the villages currently served. To facilitate these extra journeys, the 58 service would become a feeder bus and it would no longer run all the way into Maidstone.

Two proposals have been devised which would feed into existing commercial services that run into Maidstone Town Centre.

Proposal One – a feeder bus where passengers transfer at Martin Square, Larkfield
Proposal Two – a feeder bus where passengers transfer at Maidstone Hospital, Barming

Full details of the proposals and the consultation questionnaire are available at kent.gov.uk/westmallingbuspilot
